James Joyce book sparks outrage

A James Joyce children's book published by a press in Dublin creates outrage.

Zurich James Joyce Foundation has termed the publication an "outrage" saying it never gave the permission for the release.

The story called The Cats of Copenhagen is about a city - Copenhagen - which is not as it seems. It was written in a letter to Joyce's grandson in 1936.

The Foundation says it "was left completely in the dark - it never permitted, tolerated, condoned or connived at this publication, and it rigidly dissociates itself from it".

Anastasia Herbert of Ithys however says "A publication such as that of The Cats of Copenhagen is legal and valid and any attempt to interfere with its free dissemination is both unlawful and morally reprehensible."
