Kodak stops digital camera production

Eastman Kodak ends production of digital cameras focusing more on other profitable means.

The 133-year-old company, which was saved from bankruptcy by its creditors last month, will also stop making video cameras and digital photography frames. The said changes would save about $100m per year, the company said.

Loss-making operations were being checked for a while and this "announcement is the logical extension of that process, given our analysis of the industry trends," said Pradeep Jotwani, president Kodak.
