Last WWI veteran dies aged 110

Florence Green, world's last surviving member to have served in World War I, has died aged 110.

Norfolk-based Ms. Green served as a "mess steward at RAF bases in Marham and Narborough" during WWI. She would have been 111 on the 19th of this month.

Born in London, she joined the Royal Air Force on 13 September 1918 at the age of 17, leaving it less than a year later on 18 July 1919.

Two years ago, a study of her records by a researcher revealed her story.
