Miro goes unsold at London auction

A Miro work, estimated between £7m and £10m, remains unsold after a week of London auctions.

The 1933 painting Peinteur failed to sell as opposed to other works of the Spanish artist - Painting-Poem, a 1925 creation by Miro - which fetched £16.8m at Christie's.

Following suit, a 1901 work by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt also failed to win any buyers.

Claude Monet's snowscape L'Entree de Giverny en Hiver went for the highest price at a value of £8.2m on Wednesday with Picasso's 1954 painting Notre Dame de Paris taking top honours on Tuesday selling for £864,450.
