For children battling cancer, the treatment wreaks havoc not only on their bodies, but also on their social well being. One mom is working to change that, CNN reports.
While getting treated for leukemia, Nancy Zuch's 2-year-old daughter, Morgan, often could go nowhere other than the hospital because she was so susceptible to infection. Determined to take her daughter out of isolation, Zuch started the Morgan Center, a New York- based preschool, where cleanliness is a top priority, and kids with cancer have the chance to learn learn and hang out with friends facing similar illnesses.
"To see the smiles on their faces, they're reclaiming their childhoods, Zuch told CNN. "That feeling is such joy -- it's indescribable."
