The more students interact with employers, the less likely they are to drop out from schools, study suggests.
Pupils not having any such contact were more likely to be out of touch with education and training.
The study surveyed nearly 1,000 students aged between 19 to 24 years about their current employment status. It revealed that such low-level contact as occasional visits from professionals from industry also helped brighten the students' prospects.
The reason behind the improved performance was the quality information and useful contact that students received through such activities which include interaction with employers, work-place experience, visits and enterprise competition.
