Tesla Unveils the Model X with Futuristic Gullwing-like Doors

Tesla Motors’ family is growing. The company just unveiled the first road crossover, the Model X. Like Roadster and Model S, the Model X is purely Electric vehicle and it is built on the same engineering as Model S, a car that's expected to go into full manufacturing this summer. The company said that price will be similar to that of Model S i-e around $60,000 but if all available options are checked including the best battery pack and performance drivetrain price would go upto $100,000. But who cares about the price when the vehicle packs gullwing-like doors. Tesla called them Falcon Wings, but you can call them the best.

This is the most eye-catching feature of this car. The door opens upward and bends in the middle so they will be able to function when parked in tight space. The doors also allow an adult to access the rare seats while standing up, making it easier to strap small children into booster seats, the company said. Tesla claims it is the largest door opening of any passenger vehicle.

If the Falcon wings did not convince you the Model X was from future, just look at the inner console. Like Model S, The Model X has a large touchscreen for infotainment display and climate control.

You are going to be waiting little while. Tesla doesn't expect production till 2014.
