Spinner Abdur Rehaman's five wicket haul helped Pakistan end England innings early in the day at 141 runs before England dismissed the openers on 28 runs.

The third-wicket stand between Younis Khan and Azhar Ali was worth 194 in 72 overs and Younis' century, the first of the series, is his 20th in Tests and second against England. Only Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yousuf and Javed Miandad are above Younis on the list of Pakistan batsmen with the most Test centuries.
Azhar Ali's half-century is his 14th in 21 Tests and his third against England. He has now scored 1429 runs at an average of 42.02.
