Thomas Vermaelen scored the winner on the 5th minute into the injury time as Arsenal came from behind to beat Newcastle United with 2-1 score.
The amazing Theo Walcott had crossed from the right and when the ball broke, Vermaelen was unmarked at the far post to fire home his shot from close range.
Newcastle, who had taken the lead through Hatem Ben Arfa played defensively.
Vermaelen had given the ball away to Chiek Tioté and, in a flash, Demba Ba and Gabriel Obertan had worked it right to Ben Arfa at his near post to fire fierce shot.
Within less than a minute, Walcott's first assist of the evening picked out Van Persie in the area where the Arsenal captain beat Mike Williamson, to find the bottom corner. This was his 33rd goal of the season.
Vermaelen had a header cleared from in front of the line by Danny Simpson and another acrobatically tipped over the crossbar by Tim Krul before his winner.
Arsenal now moved within one point difference to Tottenham Hotspurs and Theo Walcott warned Tottenham that Arsenal are poised to overtake
"Tottenham have got to be watching over their shoulders now," Walcott said.
