Arjen Robben had assisted and scored a goal |
A goal in each half from Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben sealed a 2-0 away victory for the German giants in the first leg of the quarter final on their course to reach the final at their own ground.
The Dutchman was amazing in the whole match. After setting up Mario Gomez for his 11th UEFA Champions League goal of the season in the final minute of the first half, when the forward hit a low shot that dipped under the body of Elinton Andrade, Robben doubled his team's advantage with a masterfully-taken strike 21 minutes from time.
Robben playing a superb one-two with Müller before curling inside the far post.
AC Milan worked hard to keep the European champions in control for a goal less draw after a tense quarter-final first-leg draw in Italy.
Josep Guardiola's visitors dominated for long spells and Xavi Hernández and Lionel Messi impressed throughout but the hosts defended well and also created some good chances that could have earned them a win.
Robinho, Just eight metres out, skied his volley and Ibrahimović should have beat Víctor Valdés to score in 20 minutes.
Messi scuffed a free-kick and a tenth-minute shot, Christian Abbiati handeled the latter and was relieved to see Daniel Alves prod wide from close range.
The frustration for the champions increased after Andrés Iniesta sent a long shot fizzing wide early in the second half before Milan shake things up by bringing on Stephan El Shaarawy for Robinho.
Guardiola had replaced Iniesta with the lively Tello, who sent a vicious shot wide on 73 minutes before Carles Puyol soon came close to breaking the deadlock, putting Xavi's corner just wide.
