George Brown College student Sarah McGowan wins Basch It Up design contest

A student at a Toronto college, Sarah McGowan, has taken home top honours in the Basch It Up design competition.

Manufacturer Eleventh Floor Apparel was behind the contest, which saw aspiring student designers from schools across Ontario vie for the opportunity to craft creations for the Basch label. Academy of Design, Fanshawe College, George Brown College, Seneca College and Ryerson University were among the participants.

The competition involved creating two original pieces to be incorporated in the fall-winter 2012 collection for Basch. An expert industry panel then narrowed down student submissions to two finalists to represent the individual schools.
