Need to run the country from your iPad? There's a £20,000 taxpayer-funded app for that, Prime Minister


For a man with lots on his mind, Prime Minister David Cameron will soon be able to run the country from his iPad-  at a cost of around £20,000 to the taxpayer.
With a quick swipe on the touchscreen, later this month Mr Cameron will be able to keep up to date with all the latest information from across Government on his 'management dashboard'.
The application will produce real time data on issues such as polling, Government statistics, unemployment numbers, NHS waiting list and movements in the markets at the touch of a button.
It will also give 'real time' news feeds from Google, Twitter and other news outlets so the Prime Minister can keep up to date with events in the UK and around the world.
IT programmers inside the Cabinet Office have been working for the last few months on develop the personalised application for the PM.
According to reports, the cost of producing the software is estimated to have hit £20,000.
Mr Cameron, an avid iPad fan, already uses the device to read newspapers and political news websites.
He also listens to TuneIn radio, which relays the BBC and other channels over wi-fi.
However, the Prime Minister also uses the device to relax and takes it on flights where he catches up with episodes of U.S. Desperate Housewives and The Killing.
Mr Cameron and George Osborne have also both admitted they are fans of Angry Birds - which involves using a catapult to fire furious tweeting birds at pigs and other objects.
