Taylor Swift to receive award from Michelle Obama

US First Lady Michelle Obama will make an appearance at the 25th Annual Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards to honour country singer Taylor Swift for her extensive philanthropic endeavours.

Michelle received the special Big Help Award in 2010 and will present this years award to the 22-year-old Love Story hitmaker, reported Ace Showbiz.

Swift has done many charitable works in the past years.

She supports Make-A-Wish Foundation, St Jude Medical Centre, Habitat for Humanity, The Red Cross and The Salvation Army among other good causes.

Swift will receive the “Big Help Award” for her charitable efforts including last year’s “Speak Now, Help Now” benefit concert in Nashville, which raised $750,000 for tornado victims in the Southeast. "Taylor's dedication to helping others has encouraged her fan base to do the same, and this is the very core of what The Big Help is, inspiring others through action," said Marva Smalls, Executive Vice President, Public Affairs and Chief of Staff, Nickelodeon Group.

The Big Help Award was first presented in 2009 to Leonardo DiCaprio and last year it was given to singer-actor Justin Timberlake.

The 25th annual Kids’ Choice Awards, hosted by Will Smith, will be broadcast live from USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles at 7 p.m. Saturday on Nickelodeon.
