Chernobyl Diaries (2012)

Chernobyl Diaries is a 2012 horror film co-produced and directed by Bradley Parker and starring Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski, Devin Kelly, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Nathan Phillips, Ingrid Bolso Berdal and Dimitri Diatchenko.

Synopsis: The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an "extreme tour" guide. Ignoring warnings, Uri takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, the group soon find themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone. Six young tourists are mysteriously being hunted by Mutants, whose condition is due to Radiation exposure.

Production: Chernobyl Diaries follows the Chernobyl disaster and is based on the story The Diary of Lawson Oxford by Oren Peli. It is also the directorial debut of visual effects supervisor Bradley Parker. Filming took place in several places in Europe, as well as on location in Pripyat.
