Mario Gomez double earned Germany a memorable victory over Holland as they will most probably qualify for the quarter-finals.
Holland have lost both the matches and need to win the last match against Portugal to have some hope for the next stage.
Gomez had scored the opener on 23 minutes. Muller received the ball on the right and spot Schweinsteiger, who poked it through the Dutch back line where Gomez controled the ball and slots past Stekelenburg.
The second goal came in much the same way. Schweinsteiger receiving the ball from the right once again, finding another clever through ball to breach the defence and Gomez, on the right-hand side of the area, hit high and hard past Stekelenburg.
Holland had pulled back a goal after 73 minutes making last minutes thrilling. Huntelaar played a quick ball to Robin van Persie who had his back to goal, and Khedira at his back. The striker moved off the defender and raced into space before hitting an excellent shot with his right foot from just outside the box through Badstuber's legs and into the bottom corner.
Earlier Portugal's victory over Denmark gave them a good chance of extending their record of reaching the knockout stage in their last five European Championships.
Pepe's thumping near-post header put Portugal ahead, before Helder Postiga smashed in a close-range effort.
But two headed goals from striker Nicklas Bendtner brought the Danes level and looked set to leave Paulo Bento's men with an uphill task to advance from Group B.
Then with three minutes left, Varela's right-foot shot won it for Portugal.
