The open house introduces participants to the College’s vibrant art scene, which includes programs in creative writing, studio arts, theater, music and dance, as well as internship opportunities, professional performances, readings and exhibitions by visiting artists, and creative writing workshops and conferences for undergraduates and high school students.
During the weekend, students will attend creative writing, theater and visual arts workshops offered by BLUR, tour various studio spaces on campus and meet with Sweet Briar and BLUR faculty. As a special treat, participants will see two productions by Endstation Theatre Company, Sweet Briar’s professional theater company-in-residence. The performances are part of the annual Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival, which takes place in June and July.
