Meet the Innovators Who Want to Improve Your Urban Life

For more than a year, Mashable has delivered the Global Innovation Series to highlight the latest innovations in urban mobility. Presented by BMW i, which provides mobility services for the urban environment, this series covers a range of topics, from new forms of transportation to re-imagined architecture, as well as technology innovations that improve quality of life in cities around the world.

On July 16, Mashable and BMW i brought the Global Innovation Series to life in Berlin through a series inspiring discussions on urban mobility and innovation. Leaders in technology, design and urban planning came together and addressed a range of topics that resonated with the Global Innovation Series on Mashable.com.

A diverse set of industry experts from around the world came to Berlin to speak.

Highlights included Adam Greenfield, founder and managing director of Urbanscale and Bonnie Shaw, director of iStrategy Labs, who discussed bottom-up community building in cities through new forms of technology. Anthony Eskinazi of ParkatmyHouse shared a revolutionary new way of parking in cities, and Rachel Smith, one of Australia’s leading sustainable transport specialists, explored new forms of transportation. Sami Niemela, creative director for Nordkapp connected elements of design with human behavior.

The three winners from the Global Innovation Series startup contest -- WooFound, SeeClickFix and ChallengePost -- each presented on how their startup is improving urban life with technology.
