Ray Allen to Join Miami Heat

Ray Allen, 36 will leave the Boston Celtics after five seasons to accept a contract offer from Miami Heat.

His agent confirmed the news after Heat owner Micky Arison tweeted "Its 2:30am in London and I was just woken up with great news. Welcome to the family #20!"

The former Sonic will get a three-year, $9 million deal compared to the two-year, $12 million contract offered by the Celtics.
