Fun Size is an upcoming 2012 American teen comedy film written by Max Werner and is the feature directorial debut of Josh Schwartz. The film is rated PG-13 for crude and suggestive material, partying and language, becoming the second Nickelodeon film to get the rating, after Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. It stars Victoria Justice, Jane Levy, Thomas McDonell and Chelsea Handler. It will be produced by Nickelodeon Movies, Anonymous Content and Fake Empire Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
Plot: Wren (Victoria Justice) is invited to a Halloween party by her crush, Aaron Riley (Thomas McDonell), but she is also ordered by her mother (Chelsea Handler) to take her oddball little brother Albert with her when she goes out trick-or-treating on Halloween. When she goes to the party instead, she loses him and must find him before her mother finds out. So she ends up borrowing a car from some boys and they team up to find Wren's brother. They end up going through a lot of trouble to find him and go through some crazy shenanigans.
Production: In January 2011 it was announced that Josh Schwartz would direct the film as his feature film directorial debut. By Spring of 2011, The lead role had been offered to Victoria Justice, and Jane Levy had entered talks for her role in the film, with Paramount announcing initial plans for the project to be shot in Minnesota. The location was changed to Michigan and later to Cleveland, Ohio. In June 2011, Chelsea Handler entered negotiations.
Inclement weather delayed the start of principal filming until early 2012. The film is scheduled for release for October 26, 2012.
