Jessica Biel, Justin Timberlake marry in Italy

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel tied the knot at a seaside resort in southern Italy.

The Borgo Egnazia resort declined to comment Friday about the superstar nuptials.

The couple released a statement to People magazine saying, "It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends."

Representatives for the couple confirmed the report Friday.

The 31-year-old Timberlake and 30-year-old Biel got engaged in December after dating for several years.

Timberlake, who has been acting more than singing lately, is an American actor, businessman and singer-songwriter. He achieved early fame when he appeared as a contestant on Star Search, and went on to star in the Disney Channel television series The New Mickey Mouse Club, where he met future bandmate JC Chasez. Timberlake became famous in the late 1990s as the lead singer and youngest member of the boy band 'N Sync, whose launch was financed by Lou Pearlman. He recently  starred in the Clint Eastwood baseball film, "The Trouble with the Curve."

Biel is an American actress, model and singer. She is best known for her television role as Mary Camden in the long-running family-drama series 7th Heaven. She has since starred in many films including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Blade: Trinity (2004), I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007), The A-Team (2010), New Year's Eve (2011), and Total Recall (2012).
