Beneath the Darkness (2011)

Beneath the Darkness is an American horror-thriller film directed by Martin Guigui, and starring Tony Oller, Dennis Quaid, Devon Werkheiser and Aimee Teegarden.

Premise: Vaughn Ely (Quaid) is a beloved native of a small Texas town with a dark secret, formerly the star quarterback, now the local mortician. Two years prior to the events of the film Ely's wife Rosemary died tragically, causing him to become withdrawn from society, where in private his evil quirks blossomed. Though his secrets won't stay hidden for long. Travis (Oller) a troubled teen doing lawn work in the employ of Ely, carrying scars from a loss of his own. His sister having died a decade before when he was just 7 years old, an event that has led him to hold a quiet belief in the paranormal. As he is living under the impression that he saw a dark spectral presence beside his sisters bed the evening she died. This belief in the paranormal fuels a suspicion that brings Travis and 3 of his friends to Ely's Funeral Home where the would be ghost hunters inadvertently discover Ely's secret, putting them in harms way. The mad mortician kills one of the snooping teens despite the others witnessing. Because of his good reputation in the town local law enforcement believes Ely's cover story over what the kids have seen. Leaving them to their own devices to bring him to justice.
