MULTAN: Students of the Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) protested against the alleged irregularities in their results and also had fistfights with the teachers at the campus, Geo News reported Monday.
According to the sources, students of MA Education department alleged that 40 papers of the fourth semester were missing and they are not being allowed to take the exams for the fifth semester.
The students of the varsity gathered at their respective department to stage a protest and chanted slogans against the administration.
When they were intervened to quit the demonstration, a scuffle was witnessed between the students and the faculty members.
On the other hand, Chairman of Education Department Farooq Mashadi told that none of the student was barred to take the exam. Only one student named Pervaiz, who did not pay the exam fee and was failed in three subjects of the previous semester, was not permitted to sit in the examinations.
Later, the university administration and the protesting students resolved the matter in a meeting and called off the demonstration.
