Earlier this week we reported on the 90s-tastic promotional video starring Alice Dellal for jeweller Dominic Jones' latest collection and now designers Dean and Dan of DSquared2 have embraced the 90s explosion with a short film to showcase their Spring/ Summer 2013 Resort wear. Tapping into the popularity of Cara Delevingne, the film is directed by Senio Zapruder and titled 'Ultimate Scream'. It sees the Brit model of the moment channelling high-octane 90s glamour and acting out a scene from 'Scream'.
A few moments into the clip Cara receives a phone call from a 'Scream' psychopath before we hear Drew Barrymore speak lines from the opening scene of the iconic horror movie. Delevingne's ability to pull a cracking face or two comes into full force as she screams down the phone when the anonymous caller spooks her. The film is just under two minutes long, but within that time frame some super-fast paced editing enables her to model a large number of looks from the collection.
While the campaign video borrows from Wes Craven's 'Scream' series the DSquared2 looks are straight out of '90210', 'Clueless' and 'Saved By The Bell' and Cara's side swept hair looks like it’s inspired by 90s TV babe Kelly Kapowski. All the while a catchy soundtrack plays, including 'Independent Women' by Destiny's Child.
Cara shows her cheeky side at the end as she proclaims 'I just want to be angry at you, go away' and swears at the camera before dropping her pink frock to the floor
