Halos of mysterious dark matter could be hiding large numbers of unseen stars on the fringes of galaxies. The discovery could explain why there is more light in the Universe than there are stars to produce it. Researchers masked the light c
oming from galaxies in a distant region of the sky but found that small amounts of light were still coming through from stars hidden by the halos of dark matter known to surround galaxies.
