Thousands of Quebec students protest in downtown Montreal
MONTREAL - Quebec students have been organizing large-scale marches on the 22 of each month since March, and this month is no different.
As part of a global movement against tuition fees, thousands of Quebec students were gathered at Square Victoria in downtown Montreal on Thursday afternoon.
Several CEGEPs and university faculties at universities have voted to strike as part of an international day of action on education.
On Thursday morning, access to doors at the Universite du Quebec a Montreal (UQAM) in downtown Montreal was blocked by protesters and students hung a banner with the logo of the student group CLASSE on the Decarie overpass in NDG.
