Here is the Rocket Racer, and it is, simply put, a school boy's dream come true -A Rocket Plane!
The age of personal rocket flight is upon us, albeit here in the form of sports and entertainment.
''We are using 21st century Technology, to create 21st century Sport for the 21st century people,'' says one of the founders.


With its gull-wing doors and canard wings that gives it back-to-the-future, Jetsons look, the Rocket Racer has been designated a ''Self Launched Sail Plane''. While it could fly faster than its 300 m.p.h speed limit, Rick Searfoss, a former shuttle pilot and the league's chief test pilot, warns,''that you will probably rip the wing off.'' Still, he says, ''this thing loves to get into the air.It's like a jet fighter in pace and feel.''


Peter Diamandis, the all-around space nut behind the X Prize, zero gravity tourism, and several other sub-orbital, orbital, and intergalactic notions, gave Whitelaw the idea to fly rockets around a five mile virtual track in the sky.
''Our goal is to build a multi-billion-dollar company that will become the Formula One racing of the future,'' Diamandis explains. This is the closest to Pod racing from Star Wars.......than anything else. Kids get it!!!''


Meanwhile, the plane swoops in low at the Oshkosh Air Show, in Wisconsin:
