AXTEL’s Next Generation Operations Support System Provider

NetBoss Technologies, Inc., Is Chosen as AXTEL’s Next Generation Operations Support System Provider

Solution provides automated fault management, correlation, root cause, and service impact analysis in support of AXTEL’s intensified focus on Service Assurance.

NetBoss Technologies, a leading supplier of network management and service assurance solutions to network operators around the world, announced today that AXTEL, Mexico’s company with the most advanced pay TV and the fastest broadband service with up to 200 MB of fully symmetrical Internet speed, has selected them to provide its Next Generation Operations Support System (NGOSS). AXTEL’s network serves all market segments including corporate, financial, government, wholesale, and residential.
NetBoss Technologies is deploying its flagship NetBoss XT network management system covering nearly 50 different multi-vendor equipment types. NetBoss StateWise will provide topology-based correlation, root cause analysis, and service impact analysis utilizing logical connectivity information provided by NetBoss XT mediation agents and interfaces to two of AXTEL’s existing inventory management systems. It will also reduce the volume of alarms that busy network operations staff must view by using correlation patterns to filter misleading and unnecessary alarm traffic. NetBoss XT then displays the simplified and precise results of the analysis performed by StateWise. NetBoss XT will also be linked to AXTEL’s trouble ticketing system for end-to-end visibility and workflow. The solution will improve service quality while reducing network operations costs by identifying the specific devices causing service delivery issues.
AXTEL has a network covering 39 of the most important cities in Mexico, as well as connectivity in 200 cities in the nation. The company’s offering includes integral communication services such as high-speed broadband, pay television, data transmission and virtual private network implementation, Web page hosting, data centers, managed security services for other telecommunications operators, and voice services.
NetBoss Technologies was chosen over other high profile competitors in the bidding process because it demonstrated a cost-effective, forward-looking solution that can be easily extended to cover new network equipment and NGN services as they are deployed. The NetBoss XT Agent Development Environment (XADE) will enable AXTEL to build their own mediation agents for newly acquired equipment, resulting in lowest cost of ownership.
AXTEL is a Mexican telecommunications company with significant growth in the broadband segment, the most advanced pay television service, and one of the leading companies in information and communication technologies solutions in the corporate, financial and government sectors. The Company serves all market segments - corporate, financial, government, wholesale and residential with the most robust offering of integrated communications services in Mexico.
