Fairfield Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault

FAIRFIELD — An English teacher at Fairfield Ludlowe High School was charged with sexual assault after he engaged in a long-running relationship with a student, police said.

Glenn Mishuck, 49, of Ellsworth Street in Bridgeport, was charged with 17 counts of second-degree sexual assault. He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at Superior Court in Bridgeport.

Mischuck is no longer a teacher at the school. Officials there said he resigned his position Oct. 7. He had been placed on paid administrative leave Sept. 18, when school officials learned of the allegations against him, a school spokeswoman said.

Mishuck, who was known to students as "Mish," engaged in a sexual relationship with a student younger than 18 on at least 17 occasions, police said. Text messages between the student and Mishuck corroborated the incidents, police said.

Mishuck turned himself in Thursday morning. He could not post $150,000 bail.
