''' !WOW! : HONOURING THE 

INCOMPLETE STUDENT '''

Philosopher Immanuel Kant caused a  ''Copernican Revolution'' when he announced that:    ''Man could never truly know the real world'' because he was doomed to perceive it through his 5 limited senses and through the distorting lenses of Space & Time!!

Your leaders and Governments are blissfully insane. They are all pious hypocrites. And a product of another Era. Don't bank on them to change your lot. Your only hope is !WOW!  -but this requires years of patient, conscientious hardwork and sacrifices. 

I and the whole world will,  very very soon, come to expect hell a lot from the students. 

Top students amongst you, should have tremendous desire for knowledge and the intellectual capacity to make sense of the unfathomably complex issues,

the imaginative powers to paint a vision of the future that generates enthusiasm, the operational know-how to translate strategy into concrete plans,

and the interpersonal skills to foster commitment to undertakings that could cost many many students a lot of pain, and suffering should they fail.

UNFORTUNATELY, no single student, no matter how brilliant and capable, can live up to those standards.

Only when students get conscious, and start seeing themselves as incomplete,  as having both strengths and weaknesses-  will they be able to make up for their missing skills by relying on others.

If you understand all of the above and genuinely endeavor to practice this on !WOW!, you are then well on your way to glory.

Take this for a primer and an example:

EVEN Corporations have been becoming less hierarchial and more collaborative for decades, of course, as globalization and the growing importance of the knowledge work 

have required that responsibility and initiative be distributed more widely.  Moreover, it is now possible for a large group of people to coordinate their actions, not just by bringing a lot of

information to a few centralized places but also by bringing lots of information to lots of places through ever-growing networks within and beyond the firm or organization.

The sheer complexity and ambiguity of problem is humbling. More and more decisions are made in the context of global problems or markets and rapidly -

sometimes radically   -changing financial, social, political, technological, and environmental forces. Stakeholders such as activists, regulators, and employees, all have claims on organizations.

No one person could possibly stay on top of everything. But the myth of a complete leader   -and the very very attendant fear of appearing incompetent-  makes many executives try to do just that,

exhausting themselves, and damaging their organization in the process. The incomplete leader, by contrast, knows when to let go: when to let those who know the local  market do the advertising plan

or when to let the engineering team run with the idea of what the customer needs. The incomplete leader also knows that leadership exists throughout the organizational hierarchy   

-wherever expertise, vision, new ideas and commitment are found.

The framework of !WOW! which synthesis with latest ideas and practices in the world, views a complete student or leadership as a set of four capabilities: 

sensemaking  -understanding the context in which !WOW! and its office bearers operate,

relating,  -building relationships within and across organizations-

visioning  -creating a compelling picture of the future, and

inventing  -developing new ways to achieve the vision    

While somewhat simplified, those capabilities span the intellectual and interpersonal, the rational and intuitive, and the conceptual and creative capacities required in today's organizational requirements.
