As suspected, former Céline and The Row designer Nadège
Vanhee-Cybulski has been installed at the creative helm
of Hermès. The French-born talent succeeds Christophe
Lemaire, who departed the house after four years earlier
this week.
"Her talent and her creative track record will be great
assets in the continued development of women's
ready-to-wear," Axel Dumas, chief executive officer of
Hermès, told WWD. "She will devote herself full-time to
our house."
Lemaire is slated to show his last collection for Hermès
at Paris Fashion Week on October 1 before
Vanhee-Cybulski takes over in earnest. The designer has
also worked under a former Hermès helmer, Martin
Margiela, who designed for the house before Jean Paul
Gaultier took over in 2003.
