*PAKISTAN HOSTS FIRST INTL CONFERENCE ON HUMAN RIGHTS*

ISLAMABAD : THE FIRST EVER International Conference on Human Rights issues, would be held from February 19-21 at the federal capital -

Disseminating steps taken for the protection of rights of marginalised segments of society.

The conference would also look forward to making a framework for a conducive and secure environment for common people, the title of the three-day conference, organized by the Ministry of Human Rights [MOHR] -

Would be *Owning HR for a Better World*.

The international conference would be focused on three themes including Protecting Women and Children through Policy and Law - under national and International framework, Humanity under  Climate Change - Human Rights & Environmental Rights and Development & Human Rights.

An official of the ministry informed media that besides brainstorming sessions and on the themes of the conference, other artistic and regional activities would also be planned to-

Introduce to the international community the cultural activities of our homeland.

''We cannot live in isolation and its imperative to connect to international community and for that purpose the first step is to promote a soft image of Pakistan,'' the official said.

''It is time to bring into lime light Pakistan's independent narrative against global system and give a strong message to the world that how much they are serious to implement treaties signed for  promoting and protecting our rights,'' he said [NNI]
