LIBRARIES -STUDENTS- LAMENTS

Dear Sir : This refers to the letters : 'No silence over libraries' by Hira Nasir and Andul Najeeb.

The problem of  poor level of libraries infrastructure is not just limited to Sindh, Pakistan.  In fact, libraries across the country are gradually diminishing into dust and vapors.

It seems that the country's political leadership doesn't read.

Our young generation does not know the names of famous libraries that had hundreds of visitors in the past.

While some people try to hide behind the excuse that the Internet has taken over libraries, the truth is their hopelessly poor maintenance.

Books of new authors are seldom seen and revised or updated books are never brought to libraries.

The authorities concerned should analyze their shortcomings and draft a policy to uplift the status of public libraries.

The World Students Society thanks Imran A Siddiqui, and assures him of complete support. Hope to see him on !WOW!.
