WORLD CUP BEST PLAYERS AWARDS

Croatia's Luka Modric won the best player of the tournament award, Golden Ball, at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, in 4-2 final defeat against France at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappe, 19, who scored in the final and provided France impetus in every match claimed Young Player award.

Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who kept his team a float into the tournament with 27 saves picked the Golden Glove.

England striker Harry Kane scored most goals, 6, in the tournament and was awarded the Golden Boot.
