At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the guns fell silent, the killing stopped and the Armistice that ended the Great War, the “War To End All Wars” or World War I, came into effect.
Armistice Day marks the signing of an agreement between U.S. allies and Germany in France. The agreement brought an end to four years of fighting in Europe. More than 116,000 Americans and nearly 1.4 million French troops died in World War I.
More than 60 world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, will travel to Paris for commemorations of the end of World War I a century ago.
The main ceremony will take place at the Arc de Triomphe war monument in Paris at 11 a.m. — marking the time when guns finally fell silent after four years of trench warfare and general European slaughter.
What have we learnt from World War 1? The world saw World War 2 after that, without learning from the mistakes and it resulted in much more deaths and sacrifices.
Now the world has changed and it has been a long time since World War. And now will we be going to see world war 3? Will the information warfare result in world war 3? Or the war for resources specially water, will result in World War?
