BIRDS -HEATWAVES- BITES : PRECIS

CLIMATE change is a stark reality which has ramifications not only for human beings but also for other species, including birds.

Our individual and collective responsibility is to save birds from the impact of heatwave. There is a general observation that many birds like sparrows, parrots are not visible, raising doubts about them.

Pet birds in home do not face such problems as they are being taken care of by their masters.

Birds fall and die because of severe heat but their death cases are not reported in developing countries  whereas developed countries like the USA and Australia do report such cases.

Reported cases indicate that birds suffer from dehydration and heatstroke. On an individual level, we can keep water pots on rooftops and terraces where small birds like sparrows may quench their thirst.
