Anyone who happily and completely gives away their power of navigation to a machine gets what they deserve : a flawed machine.

Paper maps never lie, and never change their minds.

Map-reading and navigation are skills we lose at our great peril. None of my community college students knew how to read a map - nor did they understand the danger in giving away their own skill to depend blindly on a machine.

That scares me. It should scare all of us.
