' ASSISTANT TO THE VILLAIN ' : BOOK REVIEW

Who knew working for a classic fairytale villain would come with laugh-out-loud moments? Assistant to the Villain started as a TikTok skit and has now morphed into a laugh-a-minute novel.

The story follows Evie, who, in a series of unfortunate choices, winds up employed by the most feared villain in town.

She's all sunshine and positivity - two qualities her boss despises. The villain tries his best to strike fear into her heart with stunts like hanging severed heads from the ceiling or, oh, adopting a dragon that breathes fire.

Evie, bless her heart, is completely unfazed and somehow thinks he's '' misunderstood. ''

Her uncontrollable crush on him might also be the cause of that. We've all definitely been Evie,  grinning like a fool or letting a rogue laugh escape in tense situations, even as everyone else is desperately reading the room.

And then there's the prince turned into a frog that only communicates via one-word cardboard signs.
