How Do We Find Absolute Zero?


The coldest place in the universe we know of is the Boomerang Nebula, which is approximately -272C, one degree warmer than absolute zero. Scientist Edward Hinds and his team are experimenting different ways of finding absolute zero by cooling tiny molecules in two phases. What will happen to the behaviour of these materials as they reach lower and lower temperatures?
